La stanza del gioco - The playroom
Installation, reclaimed textiles and discarded materials, variable dimensions
(presented alongside the video performance Sorgiva)
Salento, 2025

The Playroom emerged as the material and imaginative expansion of the ritual process explored in Sorgiva.
If Sorgiva is a bodily passage—a journey of listening and transformation—The Playroom is what remains after that crossing: a world built from everything discarded or considered worthless.
The installation consists of puppets, totems and hybrid figures made from the leftovers of my studio and daily life: papier-mâché made from personal documents and study notes, worn-out clothes and colorful scraps from previous installations, non-recyclable waste and broken frames, pigments and trash.
These are “bodies” born from residue and excess, yet through playful and manual gestures they acquire a renewed symbolic presence.

In this space, play becomes a device of care, metamorphosis and memory: what I do not take with me—materially or emotionally—is not erased, but transformed into companionship and threshold.
Each figure stands as both fragile and totemic, a quiet guardian that restores dignity to what is marginal.

The Playroom is a place where childhood resurfaces not as nostalgia, but as creative force—a space where the world can be reinvented using only what remains.
It invites visitors to suspend their adult selves for a moment, to recognize the poetry of waste and to care for the most vulnerable and imaginative parts of themselves.
It offers a simple yet radical gesture:
play and allow the discarded to become presence and possibility.
