EPIDEMIC n°1

Nine sculptures of variable dimensions

Construction waste, acrylics

Salento, 2023

The work comes from a deep reflection on garbage and man-made waste materials.

Humans have created new poisonous habitats, altering ecosystems and pestering the planet like an infesting plant.

Epidemic n° 1 was born from the debris of home renovations—stucco and fragments of polyurethane foam coalesce into sculptures that rise like invasive organisms, emerging from the ground and becoming an integral part of the landscape.

This series transforms discarded materials into a sculptural environment that echoes humanity’s own persistence and fragility. The sculptures stand as a response to our impact on the planet, revealing a dialogue between waste and the natural world.
